Welcome! Here's the Buzz...
The National Quilting Association, Inc. welcomes you to the 41st Annual Quilt Show!
Once again the bee is buzzing about what a great show awaits you!
Our show home in the C-pod of the Greater Columbus Convention Center will feature 400+ competition quilts, special exhibits, classes, lectures, an extensive vendor mall, and special events. The Convention Center is surrounded by lots of convenient parking for all.
Joining our special theme exhibit of Tree Quilts are the NQA SewBatik Challenge Quilts (Through the Trees...) plus Fibrations, an art quilt exhibit from the members of Studio Art Quilt Associates.
Ohio and the Columbus area are a "hot bed" of quilting destinations, plus lots of great food, shopping, North Market, and galleries. Check Points of Interest for a listing of places to visit.
Once again, Rebecca Barker has created the artwork for our show poster. This year a landscape featuring the theme
of trees was requested and, as always, Rebecca produced a wonderful result. Signed-by-the-artist copies of this
very special design will be available at the show. Remember, they disappear fast!
As in previous years, you are invited to "bee" a part of our special theme exhibit. Check "bee"low for details!
Come back to Columbus for our 2010 NQA "Family Reunion." Join old friends and new as we celebrate quilts together!
Bus Tours Are Welcome
Please contact the Show Director's Assistant, Glen Taylor, at bustours@nqaquilts.org or 480-683-2331 for details.
Group admission rates are available for parties of 30 or more.
Show Survival Hints
- Dress in layers; classroom/exhibit hall temperatures can fluctuate.
- Bring your own water bottle.
- Classroom tables are 24" wide; your working area will be approximately 2' x 3'; plan for this!
- Label all of your tools - mats, rulers, cutters, scissors, totes, etc.
- Wear comfortable shoes!!
- No wheeled shopping bags will be allowed in Exhibit Hall C. Unfortunately, they pose a very real hazard. However, Sack Sitters will be available to store your personal belongings and purchases just inside the Hall C entrance.
Share Your Tree Quilt
This year we celebrate the mighty tree and all of its forms in quilt designs. Have you made a pieced maple tree or appliquéd a family tree complete with history? Did you try Broderie Perse or paper piecing to create your tree? Have you collected quilts, antique or new, that feature trees? You are invited to share one of these beauties with the thousands of quilt lovers who will be attending the show. Any size, up to 100" wide on the top side, is welcome. The quilts will be featured in the exhibit hall, and the owners will receive a special participation ribbon, as well as a commemorative label for the quilt. These quilts are not judged.
A total of 40 quilts will be accepted for this exhibit. The entry form is included in the registration brochure and as a separate form on the website.
