41st Annual NQA Quilt Show

Columbus, Ohio — June 17-19, 2010

Class descriptions, including photos of class projects, supply lists, and related information, are listed on the daily schedule pages.

Classes will be filled on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Confirmations will be mailed as registrations are received and processed. The show brochure contains most supply lists - note that some will be mailed and some ask you to contact the teacher. You are always welcome to check teachers' web sites. Note any kit fees. Also note which classes require you to bring your own machine (YM) or which have machines provided (M). Hand and design classes are indicated by (H) or (D). Levels indicate minimum skills necessary.

Morning 8:30-11:30 A.M.
Afternoon 1:30-4:30 P.M.
Full day 8:30-11:30 A.M. + 1:30-4:30 P.M.

#501 SO YOU THINK YOU WANT TO BE A LONGARM QUILTER? CLOSED

Linda Taylor - Morning - All levels

project image for Class #501 Where do we start - how do we end - and what is supposed to happen in-between? Linda carefully shows how the longarm quilting process is completed efficiently. Techniques covered in this class include proper quilt setup, basic pantograph quilting, freehand meandering, basting for hand quilters, and an overall view of why the longarm machines are so efficient. If you have been dying to try one of the machines, here is your chance to do so under expert direction.

Kit fee: $20.
Kit includes small quilt prepared and ready to quilt, thread, large drawing pad and pen, handout for class project, small scissors for cutting threads and book or DVD to go along with the class. All Gammill longarm classes are hands-on; 2 students per head max.

 

#502 LONGARM FREEHAND QUILTING FOR BEGINNERS CLOSED

Linda Taylor - Afternoon - Beginner

project image for Class #502 Work on a petite heirloom sampler with a variety of meandering and stippling techniques. Linda shows you how to fill up the sashing with easy basic designs and gives you a good basic understanding of how to do a feathered medallion.
