Freda Jones, National Quilting Day Coordinator
Freda Jones started quilting in 1985, when she and her late husband learned that they were going to be grandparents, but has been sewing since third grade. A graduate of Montana State College, Freda joined the Navy Nurse Corps. While a civilian nurse, she received a Masters Degree in Nursing and Education from San Jose State and returned to active and reserve duty. She retired in 1993 after active duty during Desert Storm. Freda has held several offices in her local guild and has shown quilts at the local, state, and national level. Freda lives in Ocala, Florida with her cat, Webster, her personal "quilt inspector."
