Chapter Gallery

The Edmond Quilt Guild (EQG) was founded in January 2004. We joined NQA in January 2007. Membership currently numbers over 150 members, including teenagers and retirees along with both male and female members. While most early members resided in Edmond, we now have drawn members from several neighboring communities. Members’ interests range from traditional to innovative art quilts, representing a wonderful cross section of the quilting community. Beside holding many outstanding quilters, our guild also supports several authors of quilting books, national award winners, participants of Women/Men of Biblical Proportions, participants of AQS calendars, and respected teachers.

EQG mission is to preserve, teach, and share the history and art of quilting. The guild holds monthly meetings with presentations made to members by a variety of people. At least once yearly, we share the cost of a national speaker with another area small guild. We also frequently coordinate speakers with neighboring guilds to help all of us better utilize our budgets for speakers. We recently held our first two day guild retreat and plan for more in the future due to it’s success.

Our charitable component, The Loving Touch Committee, is very active. We have donated lap to twin sized quilts to foster boys and girls and holiday place mats to Meal-on-Wheels recipients. We currently make preemie quilts for Children’s Hospital Neonatal unit and crib quilts for Hope Center’s maternity program.

Having so many wonderful quilters in the guild, it was difficult to decide which quilts to submit for the gallery. It was finally determined to present the blue ribbon winners from our 2007 show as they present a good cross section of the guild. Our next quilt show will be in Fall 2010.

Would you like to exhibit your guild's quilts in the NQA Chapter Gallery?

The NQA Chapter Gallery will highlight an NQA Chapter on our website for a period of 2 weeks.

An NQA Chapter will provide NQA with 8-12 digital photos of quilts selected by the chapter, along with a brief description of each quilt. Each chapter will also provide The Chapter Gallery with a short history of their chapter, which may contain any interesting information that they wish to share about themselves.

NQA will furnish the time slot available for them as well as guidelines on the details required for each quilt photograph.

If your guild is an active NQA Chapter and is interested in appearing on The NQA Chapter Gallery, please contact the NQA office at PO Box 12190, Columbus, OH 43212-0190 or via email at nqaquilts@sbcglobal.net.
