Friendship Quilters of Southern Chester County, PA
NQA Chapter #PA 318

Friendship Quilters Guild was founded in 1982 by a group of women taking a quilting class at a local fabric shop. They so enjoyed the experience, that they formed a guild. The guild now numbers over fifty members from both Pennsylvania and Maryland. Our meetings are held monthly at a school in Oxford, Pennsylvania. Oxford is a quaint small town nestled amongst picturesque Amish farms. It is a relatively small group compared to other guilds, but this makes for a close-knit group of friends. We host a weekend retreat in the fall and two all day quilting events in the winter and spring.

Our yearly charitable activities include:  small comfort quilts for the local hospital to give to patients who have experienced unsuccessful births, Quilts of Valor for wounded veterans, kids quilts for long term patients at AI DuPont Hospital in Wilmington, DE, as well as making and filling Christmas stockings for our Neighborhood Services Center.

The Guild has made quilts for the Diabetes Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, the Hemophiliac Foundation, Relay for Life, as well as a domestic violence center.  We have also made a signature quilt for the Oxford library and have held fundraising quilt shows for another local library. We created a wall hanging to commemorate Oxford's 250th anniversary.

The purpose of the Friendship Quilters guild is to encourage friendships, exchange ideas and share the love of quilting.

Would you like to exhibit your guild's quilts in the NQA Chapter Gallery?

The NQA Chapter Gallery will highlight an NQA Chapter on our website for a period of 6 weeks.

An NQA Chapter will provide NQA with 8-12 digital photos of quilts selected by the chapter, along with a brief description of each quilt. Each chapter will also provide The Chapter Gallery with a short history of their chapter, which may contain any interesting information that they wish to share about themselves.

NQA will furnish the time slot available for them as well as guidelines on the details required for each quilt photograph.

If your guild is an active NQA Chapter and is interested in appearing on The NQA Chapter Gallery, please contact the NQA office at PO Box 12190, Columbus, OH 43212-0190 or via email at nqaquilts@sbcglobal.net.
