From the NQA President,Judy Taylor Happy holidays, and especially Happy New Year to all of you. As we pack up our Holiday decorations, we find it's once again the time of year to make our New Year's Resolutions. I, for one, have a long list, but it has several priorities at the top. So, what are my top ten you ask?
Well that's my list. What's on your list. Send in some of your New Year's Resolutions for next month's posting. Let's share what some of us plan to accomplish over the upcoming months. Until next time — have a safe, prosperous and joyous New Year. From the NQA President,Sue Castelli ATTENTION NQA CHAPTER REPS AND OFFICERS: If your chapter is sponsoring a quilt show, or major event in 2011 and/or 2012, please add a listing of your show to the Calendar of Events on the NQA's website. There is a link on the NQA Homepage to include information about your show (click on Calendar of Events, then click on Add an Event). In addition to the free publicity your chapter will receive via the website, information from this site will also be used to announce chapter shows in upcoming NQA Chapter Newsletters AND issues of THE QUILTING QUARTERLY. Chapter Showcase: The New Year starts with a display of great talent from the Rio Grande Valley Chapter in Weslaco, Texas. Equal to the "eye candy" of quilts is a description of the extensive charitable work this chapter has produced to benefit not only their local community, but also programs throughout the state of Texas. Of special note is the project to benefit the military servicemen and women stationed at Ft. Hood Army Base. Take a few minutes to view and read about this chapter and you will see the true heart of members from this group. Member Spotlight: NQA Member, Sandra Parrott from New York, is featured during the month and her talent shines with unique quilted samples. In addition, she has provided great photos providing detail of her work using unique materials. Sandra is a multi-talented artist with a background in painting, collage and mixed media. Sandra's work might be just the inspiration for others to try new techniques in their future quilting projects. Enjoy! NQA on Facebook:The NQA has a page on Facebook and it's a great way to be the first to receive announcements about upcoming events and other activity within the NQA. There is no cost to view the content on the NQA page and you can use the remainder of the Facebook site as you wish. Website address is: www.facebook.com (in the search box, type National Quilting Association ). You can also use Facebook to contact NQA Board and Committee Members if you have a question, have a suggestion, or just want to share a comment with us. Let us hear from you! SOQS —
