"President's Message"

by Janet White, Acting President, Columbus, OH

I hope you all make National Quilting Day a special part of your quilting life, whether you celebrate with a group or individually. Tell us how you celebrate our special holiday and we will share your unique ideas with others.

Preparations are in full swing for our annual quilt show - not just the 2007 show, but 2008, too! Much of the planning for the annual shows takes place years in advance. This is YOUR quilt show. We need you to enter your quilts, attend the show, classes, and special events, and volunteer for a shift or two. Remember, those who volunteer for at least two shifts at the 2007 show will receive priority registration for the 2008 show, giving you a head start to sign up for popular classes.

Another area of NQA that depends on volunteers is administration: we are a volunteer-run organization. Members who serve on the board make a huge commitment of time and energy; please take a minute to show your support for them by returning the ballot below.

In Ohio and much of the country, March marks the beginning of a new year of growth in nature. I wish you all a new year of growth in quilting, too. Why not attend our 38th Annual Quilt Show for inspiration? I'll see you all in June!
