By the time you receive this issue, I hope the last of the bad weather - freezing rain, snow and extremely cold weather - is behind us. That's probably wishful thinking on my part, but it doesn't hurt. There is an upside to bad weather, though. You get to stay in and work on all those UFOs you have piled up. Right? One of my new year's resolutions was to do just that. I didn't attach a time frame or a specific number to that resolution, so if I only finish one, I've fulfilled my obligation. But, I am happy to say as of the end of February, I have finished 10 quilts. This might sound more impressive than it really is. You'd be amazed at how many I had that just needed binding! At any rate, I am happy and am able to move on to new projects without feeling guilty (though I really never feel guilty for starting a new project, I just feel guilty for not finishing the old ones).
Hats off to those of you who only work on one project at a time and don't start a new one until you've finished it. I'm really surprised at how many people actually do this. So, I'd like to have a little fun. Please send me email (nqamailbox@yahoo.com) and let me know how many projects you currently have in the works or if you only work on one project at a time. I'll post the results in the next issue.
Please welcome new writer Linda Newberry. She has an article in this issue and has lots of ideas for future articles. Also in this issue are stories on quilt author and teacher Billie Lauder, Sylvia Landman's methods and techniques for making her journal quilt, and the last of the award winners from our 37th Annual show last June.
So get a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy.
